Fueling Inclusive Industrial Growth
Finance is the lifeblood of economic transformation. FBSA’s Blended Funding & Investment Platforms cluster is the financial engine that powers the entire FMCG SDI. With over R1.2 billion already mobilised, our funding framework brings together public and private capital through a structured, blended model.
The programme is built around three funding streams:
1. Impact Investment
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Enterprise Development (ED), Supplier Development (ESD), Socio-Economic Development (SED), and B-BBEE contributions are aligned to key development goals — supporting infrastructure, compliance, and market activation.
2. Equity Investment
Equity capital from venture firms, private equity, and hybrid finance models fuels the scale-up of high-growth MSMEs, driving production expansion and job creation while introducing governance and market expertise.
3. Philanthropic Investment
Donor and foundation capital supports inclusion-focused initiatives targeting nutrition, youth empowerment, and community-scale micro-enterprise development — delivering both social and economic returns.
By de-risking investment and offering clear accountability, this financial ecosystem ensures every component of the SDI is properly funded and commercially viable. It turns localisation from a policy dream into a bankable development reality.
