From Informal to Industrial-Ready
Localising production isn’t only about factories and infrastructure — it starts with people. FBSA’s Enterprise Incubation & Acceleration programme is designed to build the foundational skills and enterprise capabilities necessary to transform informal operations into scalable, formal businesses.
Delivered through partnerships with respected institutions such as Walter Sisulu University’s Centre for Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator (CfERI) and the Stellenbosch Business Academy, the programme offers structured training, compliance support, product development assistance, and financial access.
We embed technical, operational, and business skills into early-stage MSMEs, focusing particularly on food safety systems, retail onboarding requirements, and public procurement readiness.
This programme plays a vital role in South Africa’s localisation drive by ensuring that MSMEs are not just registered — but also competitive, compliant, and connected. By turning ideas into enterprises and enterprises into employers, this cluster drives meaningful participation in the FMCG value chain, contributes to industrialisation, and revitalises rural economies.
