The final piece of the SDI puzzle is ensuring that these programmes are systemically embedded within South Africa’s national development agenda. The Institutional Capacity & Policy Alignment cluster integrates our work with government departments, municipal LED units, and public development institutions.
We ensure alignment with national and provincial grant frameworks, procurement mandates, and development policies — from the AfCFTA and Agenda 2063 to the UN SDGs. Our role is to provide governance structures, M&E systems, compliance frameworks, and integrated delivery models that support long-term, scalable implementation.
By positioning the SDI as a nationally recognised platform, we enable ongoing policy coherence, investor confidence, and systemic impact. It’s not just about supporting businesses — it’s about changing how economic development is done in South Africa.
